'Not So Thin Red Line' was painted shortly after the start of the war in
Ukraine. For me, it tries to encapsulate the overwhelming tension and
heartbreak in a world where conflict seems relentless. A bright blue and
gold sky is overtaken by a fierce and ominous cloud of black and red –
symbols of unwanted violence and the human cost in any war. The darkness
looms heavy, reflecting the chaos and suffering that always devastates
the most vulnerable among us. Yet amid all this turmoil, a single white
brush stroke pierces through, as a reminder that even in the darkest
hours, courage persists. No matter how overwhelming the shadows of
conflict may seem, hope always finds a way to endure.
'Not So Thin Red Line' is composed of acrylic on gallery-wrapped stretched canvas (1.5-inch black painted edge).
